How to report an issue
Email editor@skaftafell.org with the subject line Correction. Identify the relevant page and quote the statement that needs review. Explain why it is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated and link to supporting evidence.

How we review reports, correct errors and distinguish material changes from routine edits.
Our commitment
We welcome specific, evidence-based reports from readers, local organisations, public authorities and tour operators. Every request is judged on the accuracy of the information, not on the status or commercial interest of the sender.
Email editor@skaftafell.org with the subject line Correction. Identify the relevant page and quote the statement that needs review. Explain why it is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated and link to supporting evidence.
We may contact the sender for clarification, but we do not require a reporter to accept our final wording. If evidence remains genuinely uncertain, the page may describe the uncertainty rather than choosing an unsupported side.
A material error is one that could meaningfully affect safety, access, cost expectations, booking choice, route selection or understanding of our independence. Examples include the wrong meeting location, incorrect seasonal availability, a misleading glacier name or an inaccurate claim about official affiliation.
Material corrections are made as soon as reasonably practical and may include a dated note explaining what changed. The page's last-checked date is updated when the review is substantive.
Spelling, grammar, formatting, accessibility labels, broken links and wording improvements that do not change the meaning may be corrected without a separate notice.
Routine updates to layout, navigation or search metadata are not correction events unless they also alter a factual claim.
A request from a featured operator receives the same evidence review as a request from any reader. We do not remove accurate limitations merely because they are commercially inconvenient.
If a company disputes a fair editorial conclusion rather than a factual claim, we may retain the conclusion while clarifying its basis. Paid relationships do not create a right to pre-publication approval.
If you are reporting an immediate on-location danger, contact the responsible authority or Icelandic emergency services first. A website correction process is not an emergency channel.
We can update general guidance after the urgent issue has been directed to those able to act on the ground.
Visible accountability
A clear correction makes the guide stronger for the next traveller.
