What an affiliate link is

An affiliate link contains a referral identifier. If you click it, the destination service may recognise that Skaftafell.org referred the visit. If you later complete an eligible transaction within the partner's attribution rules, the partner may pay us a commission.

The partner, not Skaftafell.org, determines whether a transaction qualifies, the duration of any attribution period and the commission payable.

What it means for the reader

Prices and availability can change between our page and the booking page. Review the current product description and terms before paying.

• You are free to visit the provider directly or book through another service.
• The final price, currency, taxes, cancellation rules and inclusions appear on the provider's website.
• Your booking contract is with the named operator or booking platform.
• Questions about payment, changes, refunds or fulfilment should be directed to that provider.

Editorial independence

Commission potential does not allow a partner to purchase a positive conclusion, remove legitimate limitations or bypass our editorial process. We may describe products that are not affiliate partners, and we may decline to feature products that do not fit the page.

A higher commission does not automatically make an experience a better fit. The useful comparison is based on the traveller's season, transport, duration, group, ability and expectations.

How commercial links are identified

Pages containing commercial referrals use a visible disclosure close to the relevant comparison or booking pathway. Links may also carry standard technical attributes that identify a sponsored or commercial relationship to search engines.

Informational links to official sources, park information, roads, weather and safety services are not affiliate links unless specifically stated otherwise.

Tracking and privacy

The destination partner may use a referral parameter, cookie or similar technology to attribute a booking. That processing occurs under the partner's own privacy and cookie information once you visit its service.

Skaftafell.org does not receive your full payment-card details from a standard affiliate referral. We may receive aggregated reporting or limited transaction information needed to calculate commission.
